What makes Divyashakti Steel the best D2 & D3 Steel Dealer in Pune

D2 & D3 Steel Dealer

D2 & D3 steel is made of high carbon, high chromium, and molybdenum vanadium. D2 & D3 steel gets its hardness and compressive strength from the precise hardening process. Its toughness and flexibility come from an excellent tempering process which makes a stable and reliable framework of a long-lasting concrete structure.

D2 & D3 steel has good hardening and tempering properties which helps it in maintaining good stability during heat treatment. It also provides a top measure to ascertain the resistance when the surface of metals is polished.

    Procedures of using D2 & D3 Steel | Divyashakti Steel | Leading D2 & D3 Steel Dealer in Pune

    Ground Flat Stock

D2 tool steel is used in producing precise ground flat stock/gauge plate it can be produced in 2-3 weeks. It comes in standard and non-standard sizes. Forging

    Pre-heat: 900-950°C then raise to 1000-1050°C
Heating: It should be done uniformly at a temperature, not below 1050-1100°C.
Hammering: initial hammering must be light then increase the pressure.
Final forging: at the temperature not below 900°C.

    Annealing:

D3 is generally supplied in the annealed condition. However, to annealing process requires:

Heating slowly and uniformly sheet not below 900°C leaving the annealing process to soak for 3-4 hours, and cooling at room temperature. Again re-heat to temperature 800-1040°C and again soak for 3-4 hours. Cooling at room temperature.

    Stress Relieving:

It needs to be done after heavy machining to protect the tools from detortion or machine breakdown it is advisable to execute it before the hardening to minimize the risk of machine failures.

    Hardening:

Reduce the hardening at desirable temperature and pressure in a controlled environment.

Pre-heat the component to 750-800°C. soaking at this temperature.

Raise the temperature for hardening to more than 950°C.

Again Soak thoroughly at the same temperature for thirty minutes. then cooling down at room temperature.

    Tempering

It should be executed immediately after the hardening process to make the component more strong and more durable.

Tempering temperature depends upon the intended use of the material.

The following chart shows the variety of heat:

    Temprature[°C] Hardness [HRc]
    150 64-63
    200 62-61
    300 60-59
    400 59-58
    500 56-55

    Heat Treatment:

Heat Treatment depends upon several factors like the rate of heating, cooling, waiting, and soaking which may also vary with additional factors such as the shape and size of each component.

    Final Grinding:

Final grinding should be done using a suitable dressing tool depending on the proposed use. I.e

Wet grinding: use coolant or water to protect wheels from heat & friction.

Dry grinding: use a soft wheel for a smooth and sparkling finish.
